Being successful…

Success means different things to different people, but for me it’s about progress. Defining yourself as successful means you have belief in your own potential, and you choose to see this rather than anything else. Being successful then becomes about continuing to stay focused on being the best you can be.

I’ve been full time self-employed since September, and now feel like I’m getting to grips with running a busy and successful business. I love how those words sound and as I live them, it feels better and better. I am enjoying getting on with it, and the more I learn about being in business, the better it gets.

My business is heart-centred. I visited a client yesterday, an elderly lady who said I should charge £5000 for fixing people. I couldn’t help but chuckle as she placed such great monetary value on what I do. It’s not that I disagree about the value, but there’s something much more valuable at stake. What I do isn’t about money. It is about fulfilling my life purpose and that is what gives it extra value. I know when I work with people, I have given them my absolute all. Their investment in themselves more than returns itself in the impact my work makes. If I could choose any job in the world, this is what I’d be doing. Ultimately, success is finding your purpose and confidently delivering that gift to the world. Success is knowing you’ll make it work because you believe in yourself!

I often come across people who ask me “How’s the business going?” and I always smile and say it’s going really well, and I talk about how much I love what I do. I’m starting to find now that not only do I love working in my business, I love working on my business as well. It’s no coincidence that I’m attracting people with a similar mindset. Success boils down to where you choose to focus, and for me the focus is always positive.  Being heart centred, I sense and know deep down that this is it. My job is to be the best at what I do, and work with people who are the best at what they do. It really is becoming quite an adventure!!

Putting the energy and time in to yourself is the most rewarding thing you can do for your business. My energies are best spent on me, and when it comes to competition, I’m just not interested in competing. I utilise my time and energy on helping people. I focus on myself. The only competition is with myself in being the best that I can be. That’s a good place to focus and it feels right for me. I know the world is big enough for everyone to be successful at what they do. When I teach practitioners, I give them my all because they are out there doing their work and serving their purpose. I teach them because they have a special gift to give, not because they are competition. Success breeds success, and the ethos of my business is about lifting people up not bringing them down. The more brilliant practitioners I create, the more people there are available to help and support others.  Success breeds more success.

My parting words…be the absolute best at what you do because there isn’t any other way. Teaching Reiki, I always say to students that Reiki was intended as “a method for personal perfection” and my success is based in holding true to that method.

Until next time…

Hafsa
